Butterball Fryer XL

I saw this at academy and couldn't pass it up. Never owned a fryer before. Haven't tried it out yet, but a fella can't go too wrong for $50. Still sitting in the box. Supposedly it will fry a 20lb turkey, There's a video on youtube of this gal doing a Low Country Boil with it. Looks like it can hold a fair amount of food.

Gittin' there...

First, congratulations on the new fryer. As to the above quoted, you will find that when frying whole turkeys or whole turkey breasts, 9-14 pound ones are easier to cook and they cook more uniform than larger ones. This is not due to the fryer, it’s true across the board no matter what fryer or large pot you use.
I have had one of the the indoor fryers for years. It’s real convenient when the weather is crappy outside. And they do a pretty good job to boot.
As you said above, hard to go wrong for 50 bucks. If you never fry a turkey, it’s still more than worth 50 bucks for other frying tasks.
