I agree with @johnnyp that that is a rather ambitious price given the lack of a warranty on the XL (among other things).

You should at least list the city and state where you're located to give anyone that might be interested an idea of the effort necessary to physically acquire that setup.

Which Komodo Kamado you getting? I keep looking at their 22” Hi-Cap Table Top model but the spirit hasn't moved me just yet.

For me, the lack of warranty would cut the price of an egg, new or not, at least in half if not more. Good luck

I did some quick searching on the web. It seems you could buy an XL egg and a comparable island new for less than or near your asking price.

Let me know where you see this.  Table is $3200 everywhere i looked.  Xl is 1200 plus the plate setter.  And i shopped the heck out of it.

Thank you for that.  If it is the 76" island made by challenger for BGE for that price I would be surprised.
  • Those challenger islands are insanely expensive. Can’t wait to see the big bad 32! Awesome cooker.

I just looked at islands in general. I was seeing them for $1000-1500 and they seemed to be about what you have. I don’t know if I’d include sales tax in my asking price.  I hope you get your asking price. I just think it might be a little steep especially since the egg and all the parts have no warranty when bought used.

That's well below dealer cost on the SMALL version of the Challenger island.  He's got the big one.  Not saying you can't get "general" islands for cheaper, but the Challenger ones are really heavy duty and last forever.
  • I think you are closer on the price than people think. Especially if you sell it off the forum. Everyone on here knows exactly what everything is worth and the value of the warranty etc. you are definitely in negotiating range but finding a buyer for a $4000 grill setup may take a little time. You could buy 3XL’s in a nest for that price with acessory money left over at any eggfest so it’s going to take the right person. They are out there though (as you are one of them!).

I will consider all resonable offers.  At almost $1000.00 less than I paid I did not think my asking price was ouy of line.   As far as I'm concerned the guy that said he seen my island for $1500 has no clue what he is talking about. In my experiences the more people post on a topic the less they know.

At the very least, cite your references.

For the record,I didn’t say I saw that table for $1500. I said I saw islands for 1000-1500. My point was that you can get a new XL and island for less than you are asking. Again, not your exact island. Look at what I said. I am not attacking you. I think the asking price is high. Maybe you will sell it.  I’ve been wrong a lot and I hope you get what you want for it.   I know the pain of selling high end hobby stuff.  The problem is the people that know a lot about it know everything that could go wrong and drive the price down with valid reasons. The people that don’t know a lot won’t spend near that for a hobby. My mountain bikes are like that and selling them used is so painful.

Point taken.  Like i said,  I am open to all reasonable offers and by no means would I want to take advantage of my fellow eggers.   You have to start somewhere and I thought that that was a fair starting point.

you only have an hour after posting to edit.  After that it is set in stone, unless the buffalo deletes it.

I'd like to hear the reason you went to a Komodo Kamado after having an XL for one month. Not trolling, I'm genuinely curious.
