Monday Night Steak

Options
Didn't have the best start to the week at work so I spoiled myself with a steak last night.  Kept it simple and seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic before searing it at about 650.  I got good grill marks by my standards and consistent color throughout.

For sure.  The money shot tells the final chapter of the cook.

You did that really well. The close up of the cross section is one of the very best I've seen for a steak,

Isn't it great to have an Egg to even out a crappy workweek start?

Yea I tried doing most of the searing with the lid open and then when I flipped the last time snuffed out the fire and let it ride for a bit to bring up the internal temp.

Honestly I think I just got lucky it turned out so well.  I have done reverse sear and sous vide cooks that haven't cooked that even.  It also helped that it was such a thick steak.
