I tried several times to get a reservation at French Laundry - you gotta try at like 0001 and 60 days out.

Or, and this part is for other local Eggers too...

make a reservation for 8 folks, you have to pay in advance, but it is in a private room in the restaurant. I went there this way.

Also so if you can’t get a reservation to FL, try his other place in napa.. I think buchon? My friend went there and said the helpings there are much more traditional and it is a good place.
I love My Beautiful Wife, and she is doing whatever she can to take the "YukonRon 2018 CalifOregon world tour" over the top for this trip. I actually told her, The French Laundry, was not necessary for me, but if she wanted to do it, we would. I dunno. I left it up to her to make the reservations, should she still wish to go.

We are doing Adhoc, through the place we are staying, trans to and from. Should be ok.

There is no need to tell you about any individual winery in the area. Many many great ones. However there are two places I would recommend for a wine drinker to visit that have excellent clubs.

    1) The Wine Garage in Calistoga. Read their story it is interesting and unique. http://www.winegarage.net/

    2) Vintner's Collective in Napa. All boutique wines from wineries without tasting rooms. Some over the top stuff with most in the $45-60 range. I have enjoyed their wines for several years now. https://www.vintnerscollective.com/

Shipping to KY is not an issue for either one. The wines from the Vintner's collective have production levels that make them legal to ship here. I don't ask questions of the Garage.

Larkmead - beautiful property and great wines.

Jarvis - one of the coolest wineries you'll find.  unreal what they made.  the wines are top notch.  veeeeerrrrrryy good cab franc

Artesa - really nice tasting room, with great views.  wines are more approachable pricewise than the two above.

Chicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle
