Watching the CBS News and the "bomb cyclone" looks pretty bad right now, and supposed to get much worse tonight.  I don't always pay attention to who's from where, so just sending out a blanket Good Luck to those in harm's way.   :|

Thanks @Botch I am sure others have it a lot worse than I do, but being without power stinks when it is unplanned. We are on hour 10 at this point. I know I will be chainsawing in the morning as well.  Hopefully nothing falls on the house.  The winds here are screaming through the trees...  I hate the wind!

So far, so good here. Been a bit breezy, and it has rained all day, but no big deal. I'm on a hill so I don't usually have to worry about flooding. No branches or trees down at my house. Haven't been out in the car so I don't know abut the rest of my area. Close to 40° so no snow. Lights haven't even flickered. Supposed to be over soon, but I just heard the wind picking up quite a bit so who knows. Hope my luck holds! All it takes is one good gust.

Reheated some chicken in the toaster oven tonight. With asparagus, cherry tomatoes and rice. Chicken was cooked on the grill... last night. =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Hopefully the weather guessers and their high drama training/broadcasting are off the mark.  Regardless, stay safe out there.
If in the face of extended power outages, remember that the BGE doesn't care about the elements.

I-95 and US 40 bridges over the Susquehanna River were closed yesterday afternoon and over night.  Nearest “go around” is over a dam about 7 miles farther north.  It took my nephew 9.5 hours to get home from work yesterday - normally about 20 minutes.  Both sides of the river were flooded with traffic - power out everywhere - traffic signals out, many trees down.  Gridlock on rural roads.  Some commuters didn’t get home until this morning.

We were without power about 5 hours - I was just starting dinner on my gas grill when power came back on.

Blackened tuna and shrimp - Tuscan white beans and rigatoni.  I refused to clean shrimp by candlelight.

Wow!! That I-95 bridge over the Susquehanna has permanent signs warning of crosswinds. I travel there often (have for nearly 50 years) and I have never seen it closed! Or any vehicles overturned. It seems that a tractor trailer overturned on the northbound side and while emergency crews were responding to that one, another truck flipped on the southbound side!

Long bridge, open water, 60 MPH winds. Surprised that it's only .8 miles long.

    Tuna and shrimp sounds delicious!

@Carolina Q Yup, you have it right.  The next alternative would be US 40, but a tree fell across it.  Friday late afternoon/evening is always the worst traffic, so the closures came at the worst times.  Only options were park and wait, or head up to Conowingo dam.  Many ran out of gas since gas stations didn’t have power.

Believe it it or not - same spot - two railroad cars were blown off the tracks, landing in the Susquehanna.
