I apologize I was using my phone and hit the wrong button. Thanks for pointing that out. 1 side affect to loving to grill and eating is big fat sausage fingers.Carolina Q said:
I offered an alternative, answering your question. How is that Off Topic?mlc2013 said:Now comes the big question;
Is the MM the only choice or is there another komato (KJ, Vision) or other type of grill I should be looking at?

No problem, we've all been there.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Understood. I guess my point was to ask yourself if diversifying your arsenal made sense. I’m certainly not trying to talk you out of two eggs. I’m just attempting to shine a light on alternatives.mlc2013 said:
Thanks for the suggestion as I am looking for alternative ideas unfortunately not the roccbox. A friend of mine has a roccbox I’m not a big fan, the steaks don’t come out as good and it takes a long time to get the temperature especially in the winter months here in LI NY. Plus when using wood it burns pretty fast at high temps and is hard to control if multi tasking ie. using 2 grills at once. I’m not a big pizza maker so there’s that as well.SciAggie said:Dude, it's your money. Consider this. If you're going to shell out that kind of money - how about a medium and a Roccbox? Instead of having three Swiss Army knives, have a Swiss Army knife and a cleaver. (I hope the analogy makes some sense).Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Thank you and I appreciate it because yes I’m looking for an alternative or an egg I only have experience with egg, roccbox, Kamado. I really am clueless to anything else.SciAggie said:Understood. Another vote for the medium as the most versitile second egg.

Y'all are all wrong. Maybe not. I dunno. I got a XL and a MM, love my setup. I do plan on adding a medium though.

make sure you sell it when you get the call saying you win have it at a family dinner or something so your wife is witness. And remember your responsible to pay the tax so its not free is under $100.00 and with the $100.00 "tax" money maybe get a platesetter that miraculously came with the egg. I wish you the best of luck and if it doesn't work I have a great marriage consoler on speed dialcookingdude555 said:

Just ask her to spend some time with YOU. She can stand by the egg right?mlc2013 said:
I read another post that people on the site are really good at spending other People’s Money I apparently have no problem doing it on my own now the question is how do I get the wife’s approval. She’s already jealous of the time I spend with the egg when I’m home versus her, but doesn’t complain when she’s eating the treasures Cooked on egg.bgebrent said:There you go.

So today I decided to pull the trigger and went to my dealer to by the Medium, because I couldn't find a used medium anywhere near me for sale. With that said, im at dealer and say ill take the medium and she says we have the large on sale for only $40.00 more then the medium and I said ok ill take a large (It just came out of me without a single thought). On the way to my car I started thinking, wait after all the research I did, and the trolling on line and deciding on the medium how and why did I end up with a large??? So I turn around and head back into the store to say you know what, I want the medium not the large!! Im now headed back to my car with a large and a minimax with a stupid grin on my face. I apparently have no back bone, or im a terrible negotiator, or I really wanted a Large and a minimax to begin with and convinced myself that the medium would be the best of both worlds? Im glad I did this today as I plan on starting the plans for my new table next week.
With that said anyone have any photos or plans of a table that holds a XL and a Lg, ill just put the MM under the counter when not using and put it onto when using.Long Island NY

We need pictures of all 3 together or it didn’t happen.LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI.

If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard... -
I didnt buy nest for the large so it will have to wait until table is built believe Me I cant wait to put all of them together and excited to photo and show off my terrible contractor skills but cant afford to buy a table after buying 2 eggs in 1 day. I will keep large in box until ready to be installed in table so im thinking 3 weeksLong Island NY

That's funny, and very honest. Good for you, and congratulations. Enjoy your new spoils.

@mlc2013 I am very impressed with your ability to go big. That's impressive to go in looking for a medium, and walk out with a L & MM.
XL, L and MM--something to be envied by most all men. Congrats and looking forward to the pix!Located Middle GA

My dealer had a mini there as well that she was selling for a great price used, but it was so small I couldn’t see what I would use it for. I think the mm is the way to go. With that said if you use your mm a lot and see that you have room or want to cook a similar amount at a different temp then maybe for you it makes sense. Only you can answer thatJMCXL said:I have a Xl, M and MM. feel like I can control the CL the best. The M runs hot, still learning. Have the opportunity to get a Mini, should I????!! I have an XL, a Medium, and MM.
The medium is a great addition to the XL. I use my medium (family of 4) the most. The MM gets the least use. The MM is portable in marketing only. I do take it camping, but a Smokey Joe works better for camping.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.
