OT - Bestbuy

My wife tried to buy a $1k Ipad Pro from Bestbuy.  After 45minutes of setting stuff up, another sales lady walks over and demands the register because "the front is busy". The sales guy stepped aside.  My wife looked right at him and asked why this sales ladies time was more important than hers.  Then she walked out.  She would rather spend $50 more and go to Verizon than jack with Bestbuy.

The low level of customer care at BB is amazing.

Wonder the time frame on thread life here given a company call-out.  The buffalo has some interesting trip-wires that are definitely not obvious.
BTW- definitely no way to deal with the situation-your wife's sales guy must have been a prior Congressman....Spineless.

I get being miffed about that interruption but after spending 45 minutes there and being in sight of the goal line I'm pretty sure I would just have rolled my eyes and asked my sales clerk if that person was always such a jerk.

My daughter bought one from Staples last week as they were having a sale. Not sure if the sale is still on.

Additional concern was his inability to perform basic things.  She was adding it to her verizon account with cellular access and had little trust he wouldn't screw it all up.  Since it is her business account she would rather spend $50 more than have to spend hours later with verizon fixing what the guy screwed up.

It was $200 off, with that said she is going to check out Costco too.

Sadly customer service and common courtesy are often lacking...not just at Best Buy.
That said I won't shop BB for the simple fact their return policy is garbage and pretty much screws the customer.

Best Buy permanently lost my business years ago.  Costco is the polar opposite, so I shop there or online.

Best Buy is still in business?  My old job had some dealings with them for a bit and it left a really sour taste in my mouth.  They always treated me and my customers like we were crooks and the waiting for inept employees to do the simplest tasks caused me some early grey hairs.

They usually double the warranty on it (with a dedicated support line.)  I know it's 2-years on TVs and other electronics.

Then you get 2% off with the membership, and another 2% with the credit card.

I think I would have had myself a little hissy fit.

Similar to being in the middle of checking out and the clerk takes a call and actually helps the person on the phone. WTF.

Ahhh, I see now, more to the story.

I would be hard pressed to buy anything over $200 from Best Buy, too many examples of tvs, computers, etc that are BB models that have cheaper guts in them.
    Love you bro!

Best Buy is ok most of the time but their return policy blows.  Buyer beware if you have issues.

Wow. My boss would've brought me into the meeting, but would've made me grovel to the Porsche guy. Yup. That's how we roll here at **** paint and body.

This reminds me of my friend who is in the automotive film business. My friend went to the local Audi dealership to sell his film protection wrap and explain how the dealership could make additional money by wrapping film on the cars they sell. The Audi dealership decided to give it a try. After a successful sell to the Audi dealership my friend went over to the Porsche dealership across the parking lot. This time it didn't go so well. The Porsche dealer owner wouldn't give him the time of day and verbally assaulted my friend. My friend said he's never been treated that bad in his life. He went and told his boss about how awful he was treated by the Porsche dealer.

A few months later the Audi dealership owner went out to dinner with the Porsche dealership owner. When at dinner the Audi dealer mentioned to the Porsche dealer that they need to look into selling protection film on their cars. The Audi dealer made something like 200k in additional sales with the film.

The Porsche dealership ended up calling my friends film businesses and wanted to set up a meeting to go over film and what they could do for their dealership. (Since he found out that the Audi dealership was making a ton of money selling film with their cars) My friends boss set up a meeting with the Porsche dealer a few days later. My friends boss welcomed the Porsche owner into the office to go over film. Before the Porsche owner had a chance to go over anything my friends boss paged my friend to come up to the office. My friends boss said, "I wanted you to be up here in the office to see this, (looks at the Porsche dealer owner and says) "Get the Fu€k out of my office!"

Talk about an awesome boss! 100% true story. My friend boss backed him all the way. He wasn't going to let the Porsche dealer berate his employee like that. He kicked the dealer to the curb
i would of got the porshe dealer to pay more without him knowing and laughed my way to the bank. it just feels better twisting the knife ;)

Haha. I hear you. He would have to send my friend or one of his other employees to the dealership to wrap. His boss didn't want that. They have a hard enough time fighting garage managers at dealerships for space to wrap. They didn't need to deal with a Richard owner on top of that I guess.
