Which Cast Iron Skillet for Pizza?

Do you have a recommendation for which cast iron skillet to use that fits in the large for pizza?

Try the 15 inch Lodge with 2 handles     I think the 17 may be too large

The only pizza I've done in CI is Kenji's pan pizza. 10" diameter is called for and it fits in a large fine. Mine is a Wagner, but a Lodge would work of course.

For Chicago deep dish, I prefer a steel cake pan. For a standard pizza, a stone or steel is my weapon of choice.

    CI pan pizza...

    Kenji's recipe calls for a 10", but I prefer a thinner 12" pie.

I have always meant to try that, but somehow never have. A 10" pan makes a VERY thick crust with that much dough.

I agree Q, and you still get plenty of pillowy chew, closer to the old school Pizza Hut.

Also cut the oil down as well, you still get the audible frying at the end.

Agree with the others. My 10" works well but its thick. The plus side of that is it holds up to a lot of toppings. I also like throwing the cheese all the way to the iron as the cheese "gasket" as I believe @Griffin called it is solid. I will be trying the 12". The real answer is either work fine

@fishlessman, Looks like Lodge has two 12" skillets, the standard and the pro-logic.
    Standard... 18" total

    ProLogic... 18.688"

If you have an existing 12" Lodge, an angle grinder makes short work of the handle.  I hadn't used that particular pan in probably a year before cutting off the handle - now I used it all the time.

These pan pizza's look great everyone.

I didn't come up with the term "gasket". Seemed like that was what everybody was calling it back then. Now I've got a craving for pizza.
