I wanted gyros

after all the usual Xmas food guess I felt like a gyro. Got some lamb, cubed it up with rosemary and salt and garlic and into the SV. 135 for a few hours. Then skewered. Flatbread with olive oil and garlic and oregano, baked indirect, on the PS. Then pulled the PS and charred the lamb skewers.  Flatbread with tsatsiki and lamb, and some Greek salad. Nice Italian red.  Happy new year from -1 degree Chicago:

Something about garlicky grilled lamb with that bread and sauce... tasty! @JohnInCarolina when are you coming back for another lecture?

Second leg is in April.  Stops at Illinois, IIT, Purdue, Iowa State, and Minnesota.  It’s a crazy schedule man.  Not sure I’ll have time to swing through Evanston, unfortunately.

I had some pretty good gyros around there back in the day and I’m sure you’ve got a spot you like too.

@JohnInCarolina well if they don't wine and dine you while at IIT let me know and hopefully we can catch up in the city. Sounds like a busy trip, do I dare ask the topic? Studying the effects of stress fractal derivatives in flux capacitors again?

That looks fantastic. Garlic goes with lamb like white on rice.

I miss Greektown in Chicago. Greek food is not Houston's thing. We'd hit up Greektown Gyro at indecent hours, but its still my fav gyro. Miss Parthenon too.
