My first Tomahawk ribeye

I'm doing the first tomahawk ribeye ever, as an appetizer, for a get together at my place on Saturday. Would it benefit from an overnight in the fridge on a wire rack?
I've done that w chicken, but just wanted to poll the forum to see if it would add any benefit to a nice thick steak.

Salt it liberally and leave it on a rack open to air in the fridge, starting tonight. I do it all the time with steak. Much better crust that way since it drys the surface of the meat so well.

Should I know what a tomahawk rib-eye is?

Definitely in the dry brine (aka salt prior) camp. Enjoy the cut with a nice bourbon and you will be rewarded.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Got home tonight and want to give this some time uncovered in the fridge per guidance from all of you.
Looks to be about 2-1/2 inches thick. 2.98lbs.
I covered w salt then into the fridge. I'll get the fire going around noon tomorrow. I'll send updates tomorrow and may start a seperate thread.
You can almost already see the moisture coming to the top in this picture.
Thanks again for all the input.=======================================
