My first Tomahawk ribeye

I'm doing the first tomahawk ribeye ever, as an appetizer, for a get together at my place on Saturday.   Would it benefit from an overnight in the fridge on a wire rack?
I've done that w chicken, but just wanted to poll the forum to see if it would add any benefit to a nice thick steak.

    As an appetizer?

I used to think I would not want to be your neighbor.

    Not anymore.

Salt it liberally and leave it on a rack open to air in the fridge, starting tonight. I do it all the time with steak. Much better crust that way since it drys the surface of the meat so well.

Definitely in the dry brine (aka salt prior) camp.  Enjoy the cut with a nice bourbon and you will be rewarded.

Got home tonight and want to give this some time uncovered in the fridge per guidance from all of you.
Looks to be about 2-1/2 inches thick.  2.98lbs.

I covered w salt then into the fridge.  I'll get the fire going around noon tomorrow.   I'll send updates tomorrow and may start a seperate thread.

You can almost already see the moisture coming to the top in this picture.

Thanks again for all the input.

That is a premium hunk of protein just waiting to be treated well on the BGE.  Dang- a true banquet (or appetizer) awaits. Enjoy the cook and follow-on eats.

Heavy SnP.  It took about 35 mins to get to 115 then did 90 secs per side at 600+
