    I don't know what a eggniter is

    Charles Town, West-by-God Virginia

    Sazco large Casa-Q

    Large BGE

  • I have never used an eggnitor, but if you have to replace it buy one of these.  It will last forever and is way faster than any other way I have tried.  Get this model, there is a difference.

Medium BGE, Large KJ, 22 Backstone, vintage U.S. made Treager,

    Sioux Falls SD

I don't use the eggniter, but I do use a paint removal gun (heat gun).  If you are blocking too much of the exiting air flow it may be tripping out due to internal overheating.  Make sure the end is not block off by the lump, leave a little distance between the end and the lump......or it could just be a dud.

Thanks.  I’d assumed as much, just never heard of them.

    Not a looftlighter......same idea though.

It also has the fan function which is nice.  Let's you cool off the heating coil faster so you can put it away sooner.

I've got some knockoff version and it shuts down, too.  intermittently.  I have no idea why.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself the Bernzo torchhead linked above.  It is useful for a ton of other things like campfires, fireworks, home plumbing repairs to name a few.  I’ve always had one even pre-egg, and will always have one.  It is the most efficient, and mobile way to light up the egg that I know of.

I was coming onto the Forum to ask the same question. I've had two now and neither one has lasted a year. Before they both crapped out, I experienced the same issue (they'd just shut down and quit producing heat after just a few minutes of use). I bought both of mine at the local authorized BGE carrier - I thought that I might have just gotten a dud the first time, but the second one fizzled out quicker than the first. What a piece of crap product. BGE should've never put their name on such a shoddy device; I note that they are not even sold anymore. Now they have a cordless, butane powered version.
