    Great comfort food right there.
    Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Nice. My bone into a pot of butter beans. And cornbread.
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now).

@Stormbringer well my SWMBO usually does the split pea, but the key ingredients are split peas, ham and ham bone if available, sweet onion, carrots and celery.  Don’t salt (ham is salty) but add pepper and a bay leaf.  Base is chicken stock. We cook it I n a crock pot. When cooked, we like to use an immersion blender to give a smoother texture but not necessary.

The bread and soup both look fabulous.

And at the risk of sounding like a moron (which is easy for me), what are split peas?? I have a fair bit of ham leftover form the weekend, so this may be on the menu soon.

Dried peas, that are...split.  Looks like a bag of dried lentils, but more greenerer.

Oh my goodness. Great combination. Homemade split pea soup and homemade bread. I'll bet that was very tasty.

Thanks @legume. We usually buy beans and lentils from the Indian store so I don't think I've ever really checked out that section at HEB.
