Got to go to a lot of free concerts since a relative worked at a rock concert. The most ironic thing was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band opening for KISS

    Amazing you mention that.

Mine was Van Halen back in the day.  I just took my 12 & 13 year old boys to see Foo Fighters for their first.  It was an incredible show. They played for 3 hours straight.

Great thread.   Mine first was Molly Hatchet, followed up the next week with Cheap Trick.   I think this was 1980.

    GUARD the young persons HEARING.

I was at Emerson Lake and Palmer at the 'Swing' in San Bernadino way back WHEN.
So loud my ears rang for 2 days.    I KNOW that impacted my hearing adversly.

Recently I was at an AIRSHOW at Miramar.    Lots of people wearing NO hearing protection as the Blue Angels zoomed overhead or various OTHER loud planes screamed by.    NOT GOOD.

I wore Fitted Earplugs ($$$) while I had a set of 'cans' for the wife.

Bachman Turner Overdrive.  Meh.  However the opening band was Bob Seger and the silver bullet band.  They were great.

Iron Butterfly (Inna Gadda Da Vida) and Steve Miller at the Swing in San Bernardino - 1969.  The drum solo went on for ever, the rest of the band left the stage.

Grateful Dead, Raleigh NC 1990     1 of 17 and the only show I got to see Brent play.

20 rows back on the floor, camped out for tickets when they went on sale and paid a stunning $30 for primo ticket.

First concert ever: BB King at Chastain Park Amphitheater.
First concert that I chose: Nirvana (with the Breeders opening, even though I didn't really know anything about them at the time) at the Omni (RIP).

No....it happened.....Knocked the sound system out. When they came back on stage, picked up on the exact note they went silent on and finished the song. Don't recall the song....but it was real. Ms. P was actually at the show with me.
