Help with injecting boneless pork roast

First time smoking a pork butt start to finish by myself.  Was given the pork butt from my sister, it was cut in half and still is good size.  Unfortunately, my piece lacks the bone. I'm following a recipe that I found, but I think I might have messed up. It said to use apple or pineapple juice and I'm using mixture of pineapple /orange juice, will this affect the roast if I do a smoke cook at 4 hours then wrap it for the remainder? Worried it might not be tender. Not too late to crock pot it!

    You will be fine on the egg.  Proceed as originally planned. The bromelin in the pineapple juice may be a problem only if the juice was not overly processed, but I think you should be fine. I 100% agree with the above - do not pull out the crock pot!

    I have used evry type of fruit juice combination available, I think, and have had nothing other than good results. I recommend you try peach preserves to slather on,  after you have done your dry rub. If you have peach wood, smoke it with that. If not, you will still have an incredible meal waiting for you.

    You might want to try pineapple head rub from dizzy pig if you like that flavor it is great. I really like it mixed in meatloaf, or on icecream.
