It is amazing to me (food) what you get from a quality and service perspective when in Manhattan. Love the place but would never live there.

Gotta stay out of NYC and LA, one or both are impacted in almost every disaster movie.

I just came back from taking clients into the city.  At Dinner I asked the backwaiter how long he had been there- 11 yrs and not the waiter.
XLBGE, LBGECharbroil Gas Grill, Weber Q2000, Old Weber Kettle, Rectec RT-B380, Yeti 65, Yeti Hopper 20, RTIC 20, RTIC 20 Soft Side - Too many drinkware vessels to mention.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

been there a couple times, the guinness bars are great, definitely count the ratio of woman to men in the clubs before entering, ending up in harlem at night  was probably a mistake =) run forrest run, friggin lawyer in the group picks a fight :o buying a macys box in the original macys to fill later made the girlfriend very happy, i think it was 10 bucks for the box some 30 years ago =)

Flew into LGA recently and drove north to Poughkeepsie.  Never again.  LGA that is. Total 3rd world country.   Had recent positive experiences in and out of EWR (Newark for the non travelers) but I was Ubering so didn't have to think much.
Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here.  Very Extremely Stable Genius.
  • Jumped in here to see WTF could be so interesting about airports that this thread is still going.  Having read all the posts I'm not sure I know.

Anywho... I'm sorry but those of you who don't like NYC have something seriously wrong with you.  I wouldn't want to live there, sure, but to visit?   Come on.   One of the coolest places on the planet.  The Shake Shack alone is worth a trip.

I've been to too many of the airports in the US.  One of my favorites is Jackson Hole, WY.  Tiny little airport but the best view going.

@JohnInCarolina .... but Jackson Hole doesn't have gems like this:

I guess something is wrong with me @JohnInCarolina. I turned down a trip to NYC yesterday. Don't care anything about spending my leisure time around hoards of pushy rude people.  I'd rather spend my leisure time at places like this.

I love those kinds of spots too man.  But if you don't think NYC has something to offer, despite hoards of people, well... in my view you're missing out.  To each his own I suppose.

One caveat ... I was really surprised.  No one was rude.  Everyone was rushed though.  In Chicago people are rude.  I will defintely go back when I have more time.  I would also go to said waterfall/bridge location.  I like different things.

We have a limited amount of vacation time each year and we simply choose things that are more in line with our tastes. I've spent enough time in major cities for work that vacationing there isn't fun. I'd rather eat a ham sandwich looking through a spotting scope at Yellowstone wildlife than eat at a Michelin restaurant in the city.

Definitely not bashing NYC, just not my speed for a vacation.

LOL you're not bashing NYC?  "Looks best in the rear view mirror"... "hoards of pushy rude people" ?  OK.

I'm not telling you how to spend your limited vacation time man.  When I'm there it's for work, and I try to take advantage of it, and I appreciate it.  That's all I'm saying.

And I don't go to Michelin restaurants anywhere, whether it's in NYC or Barcelona.  Not my speed.  I prefer the mom-and-pop hole in the wall type places, in just about any city.
