Cast Iron Grid

So, my CI grid was looking pretty sad. I brought it to work and we sandblasted it. I know I need to re-season, but here are my questions: 1. Should I wash it with soap and water to get all the "sandblasting dust" off it? 2. I am thinking about using bacon grease to coat it. Thoughts?

I would wash with soap and water first then season. Would not waste bacon grease to season grid.lolThank you,DarianGalveston Texas

A quick rinse with a good stiff brush should take the blast gunk off. Season with your normal CI routine. Lately have better results using grape seed oil.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
