OT - I had a strange craving for a grilled cheese sandwich.

Nothing fancy, just a couple slices of bread, some Dukes and a slice of Kraft singles. Sauteed in butter in my Grannie's old cast iron skillet. 
Not sure why I started craving this, but it brought back memories of a simpler time, was satisfying and cured the craving.
No real reason to take a photo of it, or post it here, yet I did anyway.

Looks really good! It had been a long time since I had cooked a grilled cheese a few months ago, I had a craving, and I had to actually Google how to do a grilled cheese. Told my wife and she thought it was funny and asked for me to cook one for her... She loves it! Grill Cheese does sound good!

Kraft singles or velveeta...mmmmmm.  Not so sure about hot mayo??????

Wife is gonna be gone the next 3 days, may have to have some forbidden goodies.

Me too! That's what I remember growing up and getting tomato soup and grilled cheese. It was the best!

I miss the simpler times, when we fought with sharpened sticks over a nutria carcass.  Until I see Jesus on that toast, I'm gonna just say that looks delicious.

I don't know if the memories triggered the craving, or if the craving triggered the memories, but I shed a tear or two this evening reminiscing about those simpler times. My Grandad and Grannie have been gone since the late 1980s yet I can close my eyes and still hear their voices.
