    Thursday night football sucks.
    NOLA
  • Should be a good game, but hard to bet against NE at home with time to prepare. I think it'll be close but NE ends up winning.

I think we can all agree we're just happy football is back!

Agree. It's football socialism. Every team is guaranteed a prime time game now. Your team used to have to be good to get on MNF.

I would suspect that any of those referenced items are no more prevalent in the NFL than everyday society. You are just getting caught up in the media hoopla.

I agree that it's probably no more present than everyday society but I watch football to be entertained. I'm not getting caught up in the hoopla.

Of course it's visibility. The thing that people forget is that NFL players are playing because they have a singular talent. Not because they are great people with impeccable backgrounds and the highest of moral character. There are many NFL players that fit that mold but many do not.

Playing on a particular NFL team means that you are one of a group of 53 individuals with very specific and a highly refined skill set trying to win a championship. That's it.

Looks like we have a lot of Pat's fans here so I will chime in with my fellow Kansas Citian and cheer for the Chiefs.  It's going to be a close game I feel, but hope that KC's defense can stop Tommy.  I don't watch near as much football as I used too, but still try to watch my local team.  I used to watch a lot of college football, but family is much more important now so I watch when I can.

Based on the power rankings that came out yesterday this is the number 1 and number 7 team going at it tonight.  I try not to listen to the announcers and pay more attention to the game play.

  • Diehard Pats fan here.  Obligatory for anyone who grew up in New England, except for those traitors in CT who are Giants fans.  Y'all can suck it.

I'm looking forwards to seeing TB12 back on the field.  Hoping for a good game.
