Zero turn is way to go... had my Exmark for 4 years...
Exmark is a good brand. From what I've seen and been told, I'd look hard at one if I was in that market.
    +1 for Exmark/Toro.

Had mine for 11 yrs now.

FIL Kubota has 15+ yrs. this yr he had to replace the idler on the deck. Other than oil and sharpening. Only maintenance. As J said, commercial is the way to go.

I've got this Honda. I will never buy another Murray Briggs and Stratton again. Actually, I will probably never buy another push mower again, as this one seems bulletproof. Cranks first pull, every pull, run smooth and quiet. Sharpen blade, change oil and air filter and spark plug and it is good for the season. Also I only use non-ethanol gas. Not a zero turn, but lawn is not big enough to justify one of those. Still would like to borrow the Dixie Chopper sometime.

Sorry to hear.  My 15 yr old Toro Super Recycler B & S starts every pull.  Haven't even changed the plug yet.  91 oct from Shell, Toro Oil gets changed, air filter shaken out, and blade sharpened by my guy annually.

Was using my Dad's Toro snowblower serial number from 1974, up until a few years ago, bought a 2 cycle Power Clear last yr they made 2 cycles.  Gave the 74 to my cousin, he's still using it.

    Honda is a solid choice.

Scotty wears a fat-suit under his every-day clothes.  He actually looks like that Fabio Lanzoli margarine-peddling guy naked.  At least that's what his boyfriend told me.  ;)

Suddenly, lawn mowers seem to have more importance. Do I need to get one for My Beautiful Wife? I feel bad watching her cut the grass.

purchased a zero-turn mower a couple weeks ago. What the heck was I thinking. Should have done this years ago. Good grief! Simply awesome!
Used @Jeepster47 to mow his 14 acre park while he vacationed all over the world every summer for a decade.  They are the greatest thing for mowing.  Only thing better is offspring to mow for you.

Pretty remarkable that the silence of the lambs books were actually based on the true story of his life of anus searching.

My life changing experience was when I hired a guy to mow my yard ( I have been the yard boy for my family since I was 12 years old)  They can do in 15 mins. that would take me all day.  Life is good.

Agree with @bucky925 and @Acn. We have the ability and equipment for the task, but just don't want to do it anymore. On the plus side, our yard guy is also a volunteer fireman and we like being able to support members of our community. Win win. Our John Deere has a bagger and a couple of times in the fall, we send the sil out to vacuum the leaves.

Grasshopper with a front mount deck which can be lifted does not scalp as bad a one with center deck. They can be fast and can do a good job of cutting. We mowed several miles of trails on a wildlife refuge because the trail dodged liveoak trees and thus was hard to run a 12 foot flex-wing behind the tractor.

I bought the massey ferguson ztr over 10 years ago. It's was made by simplicity.  great mower.

Was driving through the neighborhood one day and saw a dude cutting his lawn on same sears tractor I used to cut my lawn.  First thought in my head was, this dude looks way funny (oversized) on that lawnmower.  Second thought was, he is smaller than me.......next week I had the ztr.......

My Jonsered front rider, 3 blade deck and single pot B&S motor. 10 years old, lives outside. Just had the deck up for a clean and the grinder on the blades for a quick and dirty sharpen. Cuts big areas fast and gets into corners / edges / round trees really well.

If I ever bought a rider again, I'd get a Walker. You can tell the difference between a yard cut with a Walker vs anything else.

I just took my expert lawn care specialists back to college. I don't think she's coming back next summer either. I cried for a week solid. Like the others have said, nothing like coming home to a fresh cut lawn done by someone else! She push mowed ours cuz she wanted the exercise, so it always looked fabulous. The rider was used at rental. Whoa is me! Lol.

I've lusted over a Walker for a long time.

My opinion, the best combo if I did lawns and had the accounts to satisfy the lineup, would be a Walker T30 and a Exmark Lazer Z.  Though I'm not too keen on their stripes with the middle wheel mark in it.  Looks like it was cut with a walk behind with velke.

Walkers have their place.  High end and small yards are it's wheelhouse.  The Exmark would cut the others where quality of cut and space is there.

The lift that the Walker has sets it apart. It's like nothing else.
