I have not done that, but have a colleague that has, she said they cook on BGEs.northGAcock said:
He is my wife's favorite....she actually taught a couple of his brothers art in school. Have you ever done the dinner with the band before the show? We haven't, but would like to one day.Legume said:Went to see Zac Brown last night, beautiful amphitheater night in Austin. Great show, as always they play a generous number of covers which is better to me than just straight pushing their material. They did a 15-20 min whipping post that was incredible. Some great musicians in that band.
Darrell Scott played a short acoustic set before them and was slowly joined onstage by some of the band and then he stuck around and played the whole show with them.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -

Bourbon and Beyond, which will now be an annual event in Louisville, had its inaugural blast this weekend.
Normally, not an outdoor show kind of guy, this peaked our interest due to the strong blues line-up. Outside concerts in Louisville, during the months from May through September, offer temps above the 90s and Humidity levels of about the same. This should weekend was no different. Hot and Humid, with very little shade.
Best Guesstimate, 20K + Saturday, 20K + on Sunday.
It went rather well for a first time event.
Shows ran close to on time, concessions were great, and aside from a rather heavily secure entrance, once you got in, it was very cool. Not a lot of hassles.
We ubered or did lyft both days.
Great performances:
Buddy Guy: 80 years old and rocking it.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd: played his set and came back on with Steve Miller.
Eddie Vedder: helluva show. Played alone, played guitar, mandolin, and ukulele, and pump organ. His cover of Neil Young's "Rocking the Free World was off the chart.
Amos Lee: best show I have ever seen from him.
Steve Miller: awesome show still sounding great.
Jonny Lang: Savant. Just incredible for his entire set. Left nothing on the table.
PFuNK all Stars: Over.The.Top.
Paul Rogers: Did all the Free and Bad Company hits. Band was very good, and his vocals were exceptional.
Gary Clark Jr. If you do not know about this dude, you will. His show was a crowd bringer. Everyone tried to get to the stage, when his set was going.
Joe Bonamassa: Unbelievable. No Words.
We left Sunday during Stevie Nick's show. She was great, but the Diva card flashed early. Our departure coincided with her request for the crowd to stop smoking, or smoke somewhere it would not be bothersome to her.
She was the final show of the evening, a lot of people left during her performance.
I hope this continues to be offered. We did the VIP tix, and they were worth it.."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Having just seen John Prine last week down in Charleston, I was digging around in some of his YouTubes and found this. Its a classic old song of his....but take a few minutes and look at the video. Powerful and a great reminder to us all.

A near by DJ once announced his tunes with this statement. "He sings when he talks, and he talks when he sings" can't think of a better way to describe this master of the music. From all accounts, was a supper human being as well. Tom Petty will be missed.Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

I thought this was a great image of the Ryman, formerly a church, and perhaps the most historic music venue ever. Taken from the back, lower level. Been in place since the 1890s:
