3 or 5 leg Spider

My fire ring cracked so I just replaced it under warranty.  This prompted me to start considering that it was time to upgrade my large BGE with some stuff from the Ceramic Grill Store.

My new ring has 3 big notches on 1 side and 5 little depressions on the other.  When looking at the CGS Spider, it says it comes in a 3 leg or 5 leg version.  I'm guessing that I could use either one, but probably should get the 3 leg spider since there were some comments on the CGS web site that made it sound like it was better.

Does anyone have any comments on which I should get?  I'll also be getting the Adjustable Rig Customer combo and 2 oval sliding grills.

What do you call a spider with no legs?

My OLD 5 legged one works just fine, but if you recall your geometry class 3 legs means it will NEVER rock. Just to add a footnote for those who may be new to the forum the "spider" is a terrific, yet simple device which is great for expanding your BGE's versatility by holding a round bottomed wok! With the spider legs up your wok is closer to the heat and you cook faster. Conversely with legs down - which I actually prefer - then the wok is further from the heat and gives you more "forgiving time" to wok slower! HTH

Would you need a wok if you had a Blackstone griddle?

It's hard to deep fry on a flat griddle.  It would be interesting to try to make a sauce on the Blackstone before cooking the main item.
