Boston butt

Do you wrap the butt in foil about 2/3rds through the cook and then put back on to keep it from drying out? Or is the egg small enough it does not dry out

    Nope. Never.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

The egg retains moisture well enough that most of us don't wrap.  It will be a little more moist if you do wrap, but the bark will be softer.  Eventually, you should try it both ways and see what you like.

On the egg on a low & slow cook the vents are typically not open very far.  As a result, there is not a lot of evaporative losses when compared to an offset smoker, for example.

    And welcome aboard.

This is a good article about wrapping in foil. Personally, I don't wrap anything.

I don't wrap either and have never had one dry out.

I'm in the keep it simple camp. Don't drive yourself crazy. If you're shooting for 250 and you come back and it's 230 or 265, no biggie.
