GFS meat

I was going to go meat shopping tomorrow and there is a GFS (Gordon Food Service) pretty close to my home. I've mostly been buying at Kroger and Sam's here in Louisville. I hear good things about Costco but figured I might try GFS just because they are so close and it's no hassle to get in and out. Has anybody had any experience with GFS meat and/or the Louisville store in particular? Just thought I'd look for some reviews before I pull the trigger tomorrow. Thanks

My Nephew is a GFS rep. He got me a case of frozen ribeyes that were amazing. As far as what they have in the store, I'm not sure. I love their rubs and spices.

I can speak only to GFS' Italian sausages in central Ohio. They are outstanding.

For no reason in particular I have never bought meat from them, but I see there delivery trucks all over town delivering to restaurants so that says something! OTOH I have been buying frozen jumbo tiger shrimp from GFS for years and find it very good and at a good price. Here's another recommendation. Try a tub of their Tavern Cheese spread and you can thank me later!

I have had pork butts from them before.  They were good.  Also,  I used to buy lump there.  It is rebadged royal oak.

I used to buy big bags of imported jumbo tiger shrimp at Costco many years ago. Stopped consuming any jumbo tiger shrimp (it's all imported) once I read about the rather horrible conditions under which they are farmed/harvested.

Since I found Costco, it pretty much ended looking elsewhere due to the availability of prime cuts, at such low prices. I would be thrilled to take you there, and show you what is available.
    So tough to beat.
You know how to find me, although typically drunk next to the BGE, I am good with it, if you are.

Its the only place I buy pork butts.  Good price and good quality.
