Just curious, where did you get your shrimp?

That onion bacon thing needs more splaining.... I need to make that....
My friend, my better half does this and it's worthy.  Vidalia peeled and top cored.  HDAF times 2.  In the onion:  one garlic clove minced, one T butter, a dose of seasoned salt and draped in par cooked bacon.  On the egg 60 minutes at 375-400.  Legit my brother.

Scottie, usually I tap a friend from the coast for fresh shrimp.  That has dried up.  The shrimp in this cook came from Krogers.  No preservatives but best we got here in N GA.

Damn, that came together well.  We need to make it out to your neck of the woods.

...and...later that evening, you were the foot f*ckin master!  (that non sequitur courtesy a concurrent conversation I had as typing this).

I did a triathlon at Lake Lanier a few years ago. Beautiful place. I've since become much more lazy.
Funny you say that.  I was full on into triathlon.  Raced about 40 including Alcatraz.  When training for IM it became clear that wouldn't be good for the marriage.  Took up BGE and beer.  Way easier to meet the goals ;)
Haha. Same here! I swam 10 laps and ran 3 miles in my neighborhood today. Felt like I'd done an IM afterwards. Grillin' & drankin' is much more fun!
I am gonna go walk the dogs here in a few....after a hot tea and a relax.

Going in record here....I think Brent is getting more than his fair share of SoA's. It's time for Nicole to set up an account and get her rightful due. Very nice Brent...ha to Nicole.

Very delicious! Your wife's recipe is a keeper. Did these indirect in CI. The onions were super sweet and the bacon, butter and garlic were delish

Hanger steak and asparagus with those awesome onions. Dessert was cherry pie with Michigan tart cherries and homemade ice cream

@northGAcock I'll have to keep an eye out for them. I mostly see regular red, white, yellow onions. Are the vidalias really sweeter?

the nytimes (Melissa Clark) ice cream base is really good! I've got some cherries left over - planning to do a batch with those mixed in

They are the standard for sweetness at least they have been for years. Hard to say anymore with the horticulture genetics efforts. They are easy to get down here being a neighboring state to Georgia. They are a great onion regardless.

Had a hankering for some fresh peach ice cream lately. Birthday later this week so might pull the trigger on that.
