OT: Any Blackstone owners use Blue Rhino exchange tanks?: OT
Comments

Keep in mind, those Blue Rhino exchange tanks are around 15lbs, not 20. I get mine filled, $16, and get an actual 20lbs. The nice older gentleman even busted out his Case, and cut my Blue Rhino label off. There were several labels in the trash can.BrandonQuad Cities

It's just like anything else, convenience commands a price. No different than buying a gallon of milk at the convenience store.

Slightly old article about the way the exchange services fill their tanks: https://www.orangecoat.com/the-truth-about-filling-20-lb-bbq-grill-propane-tanks
I get mine filled at a local place that has a punch card (fill 9 get the 10th free).
Can also get them filled at BJs and U-Haul: https://www.uhaul.com/Propane/ Prices are listed there as well.

(We were lucky enough to anticipate that before disaster struck.)

No Blackstone here. But I do have a tank on my Gasser along with one on the propane fire pit. I was going to get a spare also but the wife nixed that. Doesn't often get cold enough in Florida so she said just you the fire pit tank as a spare.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

The biggest drawback is the need to exchange more often since the exchange tanks are only 15# fills. So I use the service when I have out of date tanks or need gas real fast at a bad time. I much prefer refilling my own tanks at the local gas supply company. Cost is less and I get a full fill. My local gas company puts coupons in the paper preiodicall for $10 fills. That is way better than $20 for a 15# exchange(although some run $15 specials on exchange tanks occasionally)LBGE/Weber Kettle/Blackstone 36" Griddle/Turkey Fryer/Induction Burner/Royal Gourmet 24" Griddle/Cuisinart Twin Oaks/Pit Boss Tabletop pellet smoker/Instant Pot

Costco refills. Painless and cheap.
Acquire some good new tanks, refill them. Keep em covered and they last a long time.______________________________________________

I did the math and after my second filling on the propane tank it pays for the difference. I bought two tanks so that I don't run out during a cook or canning.
