Thermoworks Smoke in the Rain
Just got my Thermoworks Smoke Thermometer and was planning on using it this weekend. Unfortuantely, Rain is predicted in the forecast.. and although it is "splash proof" and "water resistant".. I am concerned about using it if rain is predicted... should I be?
Thanks

Better wrap it or even double wrap it...wait I think I've heard that before. Maybe try a ziplock bagO-Town, FL

I don't use my Maverick in the rain, no reason to take a chance. Would not risk messing up a nice, new Thermoworks Smoke.

I wouldn't be concerned about using it in the rain as long as it is not sitting on/in something that would allow water to pool and perhaps get deep enought to start submerging part of the Smoke.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

In a heavy blowing type rain, it will send out false temperature readings. I had an unexpected storm pop up and get mine wet while doing an overnight cook. I had the alarms set for key temperatures and it started sending erroneous temps. Had to go out, dry it off with a towel, and put a ziplock bag on it. Started working fine after that. In a light moisture situation, I would imagine it would be fine.

Put it in a zipper type gallon baggie and enjoy your cook.~ John - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

I set an inverted Tupperware bowl over my maverick 732. May not fit over the Smoke. Zip Lock bag will work fine.Nerk Ahia LBGE
