Austin Egghead

Two food items that say San Antonio native are:  spreading butter on your corn tortilla (you don’t have to ask for butter in SA) and a bean burger.  Sill Snack Shack was first to make the bean burger and it is on the menu of many hamburger places in SA.

Last night this native of SA craved a good been burger.  Updated ingredients and cooked on the mini.

So the bean dip and the "petrified toenails" corn chips are used as toppings for the burger...looks more like an open faced sandwich, is that traditional or is using a bun just not done?
Regardless, as always an awesome cook, thanks for sharing.

Butter on the tortillas was my favorite as a kid at the Mexican Inn in Ft Worth. I was back recently and visited the original one again.
