Chiminea Who's interested in purchasing a new one?!

Maybe if we express enough interest we could get the mothership to do a limited run.  Who'd be in for one if they did.  I know I'd probably buy 2  lol

I posted the same thing last week and there were only interest expressed for 4 so even with your 2 that isn't a ground swell of interest. But good luck!

Everyone wants one untill they hit the dealer at $700.00 or more.
Years ago, they were $300-400 at dealers, and dealers had a very hard time selling.
Sure, they are great to find and want at discount price. And I know for some on this forum money is no object. But for most people, a green fire pit is just not worth that much money. But it never hurts to toss around the idea and tempt the mother ship. Stranger things have made a come back.

If they could come up with a combo open fire cooker and cooler like this in green Put me down for at least one.

I'm not interested. Already have a wood fire pit out by the lake and a propane one by the pool. I would rather just get another egg than get a chiminea.

More people will huddle around an Egg full of food than a chiminea. Agree...

Once the ice melts, you can flush with that water in the tank and wash the ash out of the cooker.  Or just use the cooler's built-in drain if necessary. Positively brilliant.

Wish I had a place to put something like this - would be quite entertaining.

Would be fun to take tailgating for some laughs.

For corporate to even consider a special run my guess is they would require earnest deposits of no less than 50% of the selling price, which if it was $400 years ago I'd bet $700 or $800 would be the 2017 price! Then they would ship to the buyer's nearest dealer the next time that dealer places an order. However - dealers across the country get their stock from wholesalers who themselves carry an inventory. For instance my dealer gets his stock from Fargo, ND, not Atlanta so the wait would be further delayed.

Furthermore I'd bet that corporate would expect an additional down stroke above the 50% before they even then ship to the wholesaler. You might think this is sour grapes, but BGE discontinued the cinema as a loser before! Getting them to reconsider will probably be on pretty stringent terms. I'd even bet the required production quantity would be in the hundreds and hundreds and at least 1,000 would not surprise me in the least. Good luck guys!

Well, BGE doesn't actually produce anything and I'm guessing those molds are long gone. So:

The cost to retool would have to prove a less than 2 yr financial payback for the ceramic manufacturer(including depreciation) AND would need to be a long term source of operating income.

    But that's just a guess.  B)

    happy wishing.

Guys, they discontinued it for a reason. You'll never see another Edsel again either.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I just had another thought from a historical perspective. The metal stand that was sold to hold the BGE cinema off the ground or deck was the same one they sold to rest the Mini. Trouble was that stand was also discontinued because the design was causing the bottom of the Mini base to break in half and spew burning coals on to the ground/deck! Talk about a public relations night mare!

At least they didn't trade up for a practice squad QB.

I suspect that corporate isn't interested in purchasing the liability insurance policy to produce a limited run item.
