Any folks live near a Cash and Carry? If so...and you use Lazarri mesquite charcoal you may want to go stock up. Til April 30th the 40 pound bags are on sale...Store in Spokane has it for $12.20 for a 40 pound bag...

Thanks! Have a trip planned to Bellingham WA next week, will check it out. I thought the $13.79US I got the last bag for was a good deal. Photo here is from my last bag - some awesome chunks, broke up very well.
I use Lazzari mixed in with a more neutral lump, maybe 4:1, Maple Leaf to Lazzari. Smoke wood not needed.
For those on the Canadian side, Lowe's has Basque Sugar Maple, $19.99 for an 8Kg bag, second bag is 1/2 price. $30CDN for 16 Kg of Basque is reasonable (that would be about $23US for 35#)Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad! -
Either of you buy Rockwood from Thomsons in Issaquah? They also have the new bands in for the large egg.

I have found some absolutely gigantic chunks...and before a certain member comes along and spews the usual line of "it is impossible for large chunks to be charcoal all the way thru"....the size of the chunks I am talking about are big enough that they are to long to fit in a large...the diameter is large enough that they won't fit under the grate in an XL...I have busted these chunks with a welding hammer...to find they are 100% charcoal.clifkincaid said:Either of you buy Rockwood from Thomsons in Issaquah? @clifkincaid...we are about 35 miles west of Spokane...Issaquah is 270 miles from us...lol...bit of a drive. I wish we had a local Rockwood dealer, would love to try some. If I make a trip to visit my buddy in Az this summer I am hoping to find a Rockwood dealer somewhere along my route. I have a friend in Az whose buddy owns a BBQ shop in Az. Pretty sure Garnett said his friend carries Rockwood. -
Is the mesquite lazzari really strong smoke? I have a CNC 10 min away. I use R.O. mostly as it's available.
