Pineapple Butt Chicken
I have been cooking chickens this way since I was solely using my Webber kettle. Imparts a very slight sweet flavor to the chicken and the meat is super moist. Keep wanting to try spatchcock but can't tear myself away from this method.
This thing was all but falling apart getting it off the grill. Famous Daves chicken Rub. Sorry for the missing skin. Chef's treat!

Hmmm. I am interested.

Just a thought, and maybe a cool little experiment, what if you spatchcocked a chicken, but also sliced some pineapple length wise and laid the chicken flat on top of the pineapple while cooking.
I may try that this weekend.Las Vegas, NV -

It looks great and a cool idea. Do you cook it direct or indirect?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
-
That's certainly a new one on me.
It's does look good. -
Indirect took about 2 hours to hit 160 temp

Interest peaked....

Can you eat the pineapple after cooking? Or is there much left or is it unsanitary?Large BGE in Moore, OK

It's just the core and base of a fresh pineapple. I keep meaning to grill the good stuff but we always snack on it and it never makes it to the grill.

I like the idea with a spatched Bird ! Will it be called Spatchappled or Pnecocked ?LBGE, and just enough knowledge and gadgets to be dangerous .

So it's like beer can chicken, but with a pineapple core instead of a beer?
Not a bad idea, since I always want to just drink the beer."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike -
^^^^yup that's it. Seems like alcohol abuse to put beer they that.

i may have to try that, looks awesome. Nice work.Franklin, Tn
