Yeti is a nice idea but when you have a Coleman xtreme that keep ice just as long for a fraction of the price.  Let's just say that's a lot of beer and meat money you could have for that next camping trip B) I'm a big rtic fan also.  Yeti is just so salty!
I have 2 Coleman extremes in my attic cause I hate to throw things away. They aren't even in the same category as Yeti.
When it comes to the one characteristic most people  buy coolers for - holding ice for a few days - yes they are (as actual testing has shown).

On the other hand, the YETI's are bear proof (and that may be of actual importance to 0.1% of YETI owners) whereas the Xtremes are not.
Bear proof is dangerous.  If the bear can't get in the cooler then he will look for something else to eat - me!  I want the bear fat/drunk and happy.  Not angry and hungry.

Bears are dangerous.  We should arm our schools and kids in order to defend against them.
    Love you bro!

i guess no one here ever fed oreos to a bear in a remote campsite just before sundown =) the trick is good running shoes, you cant outrun the bear but if you can outrun the wife....

I follow your logic, but you aren't accounting for the bears that get belligerent and angry when they drink.  Get a few beers in those bears and they'll eat you slowly, and then key your car.

I believe the term is "hangry".
  • Yes, I bought YETIs. But I bought them brand new (pacakaging and tags included) from the classifieds and was able to register them; for prices approximating RTICs to boot!

Where we go camping we don't worry about bears as we invite them to the party.
