I know everybody is different, but taking an antibiotic throws my system in a real tail spin! If I must take some antibiotic then I offset the bacteria killing aspect in the bowels by taking a high potency probiotic. The doctor prescribed, but over the counter brand is Florajen3 which I buy cold at Walgreens. For some people merely eating a yogurt daily does the trick, but my staph infection was so bad I ended up spending a week in the hospital last Fall.
With all due respect, without medication you will be hospitalized. Like I said, I am rarely ill and respond extremely well to antibiotics because I have take very few in my entire life. This is no over the counter deal.
Pete, you misunderstood what I said - or tried to say - when I must take a doctor prescribed antibiotic whether it is for a cold, infection in the lungs, body cavity or during oral surgery then I MUST take a probiotic to re-juveniate the bacteria in my intestines. And that's why I said "I know everybody is different..."

Have yet to come across a "black lung" in the wild.
Plenty of Mycoplasma pneumonia, Influenza A and B.

A couple of the gals were hit with an extended viral illness, a lot like you are experiencing, almost in phases, for a couple of weeks.

    Take care bud.

Thanks Brandon. I'm pretty sure my wife has the viral deal. My doc said mine was a sinus infection. It's definitely different from my wife's issue. I'm making some decent progress now.

I've heard that Rockwood dust is actually good for you, however the Rockwood bags don't have any fines or dust in them............

Yeah, there is no way a wonderful product produced in @RRP home state would ever cause me so much pain. In fact it has given me nothing but JOY!

Back from the doc.  Bad sinus infection and bronchitis. I’ve been dealing with this since mid-January.  A laundry list of prescriptions to pick up.  Hate going to the doc.  Seems like they don’t really pay attention, then throw the common prescription at ya and send you on your way.

Told them I was short breath and had pain in my back, thinking walking pneumonia or something.

Typical Z-pack, steroid, cough medicine with codeine and some other pill that’s clear and perfectly round.  Not sure.  I was starting to feel better the day of my appt, feeling even better today, might let the meds find the toilet after this weekend.

Best of luck to the rest of ya, this is a very annoying, lingering, PITA to go through.

I'm making progress finally! I am shocked at how stubborn it has been. I usually take 2-3 doses of a antibiotic and it totally destroys the infection, but this sucker is tough. Felt good enough to do a few hours work at the store today and grilled some fillets and asparagus. I'll live I suppose.

Feeling much better today.  Still have a bit of a wheezing cough that needs to clear up.  Time will tell.
