anyone else got this so called sinus infection that has kicked my arse for more than a week? Good lord, I don't think I slept for several days. My chest and breathing got so tight and shallow at night it caused chronic coughing. I gotta believe I have several types of the plague! Mercy!

It took 3 days for the antibiotics to offer me relief. A few nights of pure torture. Good luck! If they mention a steroid shot, get it. I didn't. I couldn't believe it would fight so hard.

When he said "if this ten day supply doesn't get the job done, call me" I chuckled. No joke, I guess.

I rarely get get sick and usually 1-3 doses of amoxicillin and I'm brand new, but whoa daddy!
  • Same here, rarely sick. I was given a breathing treatment and sent home with a steroid inhaler. And 10 days of antibiotics. This crud is no joke.

Snort salt water and get arm and hammer saline nasal spray and get that stuff in your sinuses constantly.  Also, eat wasabi, horseradish and jalapeno peppers whenever possible.

If you have access to a steam room, go 2x a day

If no steam room, boil water and inhale as much of the steam as you can...or hot shower water..get steam into your sinuses

Salt, steam and spicy knocked my sinus infection out in about three days.   And the final knockout blow was sea of cortez saltwater accidentially inhaled in sinuses when i was fishing last week and jumped in.  Salt will kill whatever is up there causing you problems....

I know everybody is different, but taking an antibiotic throws my system in a real tail spin! If I must take some antibiotic then I offset the bacteria killing aspect in the bowels by taking a high potency probiotic. The doctor prescribed, but over the counter brand is Florajen3 which I buy cold at Walgreens. For some people merely eating a yogurt daily does the trick, but my staph infection was so bad I ended up spending a week in the hospital last Fall.

With all due respect, without medication you will be hospitalized. Like I said, I am rarely ill and respond extremely well to antibiotics because I have take very few in my entire life. This is no over the counter deal.

Haven't been sick in a while. I drink wheatgrass and barley shakes every morning. If I feel something coming on I start taking airborne. So far so good for 3 years. Going to jinx myself here.

Brown crap is coming out of my sinuses/head now. Been hitting up the Mucinex, Advil and Allegra D for a few days. Debating on whether I should go get the steroid pack from the doctor. It's just an expensive pain in the ass to go to doctor for basic stuff.

Last year I had multiple sinus infections. My doctor recommended that I use Flonase every day. I have had a cold this year but it went away in few days.
It seems to work for me.

Yes I have been fighting this off and on since Christmas. In fact because of it I missed my first Christmas ever with my family. Mine added in upper back and shoulder pain. It cycles higher then lower. I might breakdown and go see the doctor for another round of cortisone and anti biotic. A specialist who I see on something else says her husband is a research microbiologist and he thinks it might be a retrovirus.

I started with it Jan 1 and it didn't completely go away until first week of February.  It also worked its way through everyone in my family.  Stuff is no joke!

Working for me. I take an antibiotics once every five to ten years or so. I'm fine with it.

Ever consider you have a virus and they have an infection? Virus, no antibiotics.

unless they come up with something new, yes its a useless cause. im just hoping that those that dont see the doctor everytime they get a sniffle build up more of an immunity
