What do you do with a cracked base?

The bottom of my LBGE cracked, I finally got the warranty replacement and have everything back together now(although with a slight underbite that I can't fix).  What do I do with the old base?  It has a very thin hairline crack running all the way across the bottom.  Wife has already ruled out using it as a flower planter.  Anyone want it and willing to pick it up from the Baltimore area?

    Saw a post a couple weeks back that one of the guys is using as a fire pit.
    1. Bettendorf, Ia with lots of time in Chattanooga, Tn.  LBGE, plate setter, ar, Looft lighter, maverick et-735, Rutland gasket, Smokeware SS cap, Kickash basket, and lots of cast iron.

    I had the same situation.  Repaired it with JB Weld, found a top and hinge on Craigs list and gave it to my fathernlaw...  Had left over internals from other warranty claims.  He is still cooking after over a year...

    If it only has a slight crack as you suggested above, I would make it into a dedicated anus cooker.

    I am in the process of turning mine into a gas fire pit for my patio.  A bit of a challenge to find the right sized burner to fit inside the diameter of the egg.
