I tend to use ideas more than recipes. I like Sanjay Thumma and Sanjeev Kapoor. More often than not I'll have something in an Indian restaurant and pick the base flavours from there, I did that with the onion curry after having one in a local restaurant and looked at various versions on the web. I knew it had tamarind and looked for as suitable masala on various Indian sites. www.vegrecipesofindia.com/ is good as is www.indianfoodforever.com/.
You should try a dal recipe on the egg. The smokiness makes them more authentic than indoors.Steve
