MS Gulf Coast 2nd Annual Eggin on the River fest!!

This year we are going to beat the heat.  And plan for a Fall Bash. I'm thinking the first weekend of October so it conincides with the start of Cruisin the Coast. That way the locals won't be too busy and the out of towners that can stay an extra day or week can see one of the largest car shows in the country. Cruisin the Coast brings something like 10,000 classic car owners to the MS Gulf Coast from October 2-9 for events up and down the beach line.  It's a pretty amazing week to be here. Weather is perfect. Classic cars are EVERYWHERE (especially as the 2nd weekend gets closer)  There are a lot more events on the weekend of the 9th but I figure we would lose most of the local crowd which made up about 70% of the cookers last year.

Let me know what y'all think!!

  • We're looking at our calendar.  We think we're booked much of the month.

Meanwhile, for those of you who missed it last year, here's just some of what you missed.

Unfortunately, I'm unavailable due to a professional obligation.  I hope to make it one day...  Maybe when I've been laid off like @Mickey.

Don't knock "laid off" till you try it for

Unfortunately my house is tiny and we are having our 2nd baby this week so we can't accommodate anyone. There are a couple cheap hotels near by and a plethora of casinos with good rates.

Last year we treated it like an Eggfest with no rules on cooker types. Everyone brought a dish they were good at prepping/cooking and either brought their own cooker or used one of mine.  I have plenty of cooking real estate so that's no problem.

Thank you @Thatgrimguy.  I really hope I can make it. @Spring Chicken video looks like you all had a blast. I will try to bring my large egg. With Jefferson eggfest so close I will be pushing it.

As far as the casinos go, I've stayed few times at the IP Casino that is not too far away.  Cool rooftop pool for SWMBO's that aren't interested in meat sweats.
