    @dredger all of my Italian relatives had basement kitchens. That's my dream, someday, a second kitchen, with a few stainless countertops and racks to hold a Hobart slicer, pasta maker, etc. and a walk in refrigerator and curing chamber. 

    @Judy Mayberry yeah I can't say I have any technique for making pasta so my strategy is to flour the heck out of everything. Makes a heck of a mess!!!

    @Judy Mayberry, that's a very nice machine. My machine is "old school" in that I have to determine when the dough is ready to extrude instead of the machine telling me it's ready. My machine also allows me to make the amount that I want. I usually do at least 1 lb. though and either dry or freeze any that isn't consumed that day.

    @blind99, that kitchen sounds fantastic. I actually like the idea of two separate kitchens.
