Caster Weight for Large Green Egg Table?
What weight rating do folks get for casters? Is medium duty sufficient? Or do I need heavy duty? This will be on a deck.
Thanks!

hah! I like the sentiment: "if it's worth killing, it's worth overkilling"
Understood - will look for larger diameter medium duty casters. Thanks for the input folks. -
This is a pic from The Naked Whiz's site. I believe this table is for a large. If you have not been to his website, I highly recommend it. The most informative egging site I have ever seen.

Tractor supply is the best place I have found to get casters. Much better selection and cheaper than other places. I would not get the pneumatic wheels even the ones that say no flat spots that are filled I have seen get flat spots.

I agree with lit on the pneumatic wheels. They perpetually leak, another thing to deal with.
I have 5" cast iron with rubber tires. Harbor Freight (but they discontinued them). Bigger is better, as she said.

I just completed my cart for my LBGE, and used 4 inch casters sourced at HD.

Check out McMaster Carr. I got low profile casters rated for 600lbs each though my table has a concrete top. They have everything under the sun.

Same identical casters for my XL. Been going strong for more than a year and 1/2.Beef...It's what's for dinner tonight.

Purchased mine at Tractor Supply. I went overkill so load distribution would never be an issue. Sometimes more is better.

I have built several tables, all for XL's. All were steel tubing and VERY heavy. I used 4" maroon poly casters (2 fixed/2 swivel locking) purchased from HandTrucksAndCasters in Kansas City (on E-Bay). Top notch seller, great prices, and 2 day delivery. That seems to be the optium size for my XL builds. I just built my newest personal XL custom table, and decided to do the 4" HD Steel casters with the poly tires. WAY too heavy duty...and super overkill! These are hard to turn, as the rubber is no a rounded countour. They are what you see on the big Snap On and Matco tool boxes, but do not work well for the lighter loads of a BGE table.
Go with the 3.5 or 4.0 poly wheel casters. They are the best for loads up to 1000#, which even covers a BGE XL steel table w/granite top. That's assuming you are only using on a hard surface patio or driveway.

I built a custom cart for a Yoder YS 640 with the pneumatic wheels...rolls great but keeping the tires inflated is a PITA. Stick with solid poly wheels and you will be much happier.
