Baffling, the amount of overpriced, useless, accessories made for one grill.  Funny thing is, people actually buy them.

I was given one as a gift.  I have used it twice so far.  What I really like is the air flow.  Once the egg gets in the 400 range you put the cap on the top of the egg and open the vents of the porta, they are on the sides by the door.  This forces the air to flow over the top of the pizza and I noted has reduced cooking time.  We make a fresh homemade crust each week and it came out just perfect with this cooker.  Ours is a thin medium crust and it was crispy on the bottom and fluffy, but done in the center.  The edges had a nice browning and the rest of the top was excellent too.  I don't use smoke wood but charcoal does add a bit of smoke itself and I felt the za had a bit more, just perfect for us, amount of smoke added.  I also think because of the airflow the stone heats up a bit quicker and I can probably drop warm up from 1 hour to 40 minutes.  Would I buy one myself, probably not as I don't make enough Za's to justify.  Do I like it and think it has added value, yes.  Pic below of first za, this cooked in 5 minutes with dome showing 480 during cook.  Simple Italian but very flavorful.

I'm all for folks using stuff and taking a picture of it but somehow it gets on another level on instagram.

@Focker I like the "idea" of the Rodizio.  And if it was free for a demo etc I guess.  For me personally I wouldn't use it enough to justify the initial expense not to mention buying all the extra toys to go with it.  But, clearly there's a market for Brazilian style BBQ with the sales they do.  And to be fair the product itself is not chintzy by any means.

@SkinnyV Agreed.  I've seen plenty of Picanha spinning with tickling flames on IG.  Looks cool  but, again I can't justify the initial expense.

I was looking strictly at function vs price.
If cooking that style, I would buy two or three traditional flat swords, lay them perpendicular to the hinge, close dome to lay on top of the swords.  Open, flip every few minutes.
Boom.  Done, and for a fraction of the price.

I feel for the new eggers coming in, thinking they have to have some of this overpriced useless gadgetry.  Things were a lot simpler not long ago.

A ceramic grill is now harder than buying and accessorizing an AR. lol

I wasn't impressed with the two photo galleries.  Maybe one good lookin' pie out of both galleries.  =)

As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I personally know a few people that have the Rodizio's (one of them has two Rodizio's) and they absolutely love them.

But then they're heretics as none of them own an Egg. :)

There are always going to be accessories that some look at and go "c'mon man"!

Some look at the AR, laugh, and go to Home Depot and buy some small hardware items to raise their grid and make multiple levels.
