The 2016 N Texas Fall BBQ Brethren Bash Pics
Hotch
Posts: 3,564
Here are a few pics of the Brethren Bash from this past weekend at Belton Lake in Texas. We had some where around 30+ to attend. It was a bit cool in the morning at 37 degrees so we lit a warming fire in the existing Pavilion grill box. The day did warm up for us.
A big thanks to all of my Egghead friends that came out. @EggObsessed, @NoJokeSmoke, @Mickey, @Springram, @Austin Egghead , Jeri and Carie, and a few I probably forgot!!
And thanks to all of my BBQ Brethren friends, their wives and families, Paul for bringing out his Shirley Fab offset (This is one amazing cooker!!), all of Paul's family and friends, Smitty for bringing out his BoomShuckalucka vertical, Bludawg, Sliding Billy, Randy 3269, Lighter-Fluid (Bill) from GA and PBOB from Austin and many others I forgot.
Paul and Bludawg rolled in around 6:45 am and got the party started by firing up the Shirley. Loaded the brisket and ribs. Bruce an I unloaded our three BGE MiniMaxs and gear around 7:45 so we can get started. Smitty came in a bit later with his vertical. I gotta say all of the food was outstanding! Killer spare ribs, amazing brisket, outstanding lamb, Bruce cooked beef ribs and picanha, nice grilled chicken tenders with home made sauces. Chorizo sausage, and those beans were the best I've ever had. And a lot more.
And a big thanks to It's My Rub and Oakridge BBQ for donating your rubs for all to take home.
WOW what a great time we had!!
Thanks for looking.

Mickey came by in the morning. He couldn't stay for for the day, something came up. But we were glad to have both him and Nellie to come by, sample some grub and hang out and shoot the breeze for a bit. Be seeing him again at Salado in MarchnorthGAcock said:Wow....enjoyed looking through those. So I guess @Mickey didn't pull off any of his famous wings?

A great time was had by all! It was great getting to hang out with our Egghead friends, and to meet new people as well. The food was outstanding this year! @Hotch, your and Shelly's food was great, especially the crunchy chicken tenders with the honey mustard/horseradish sauce. Outstanding!

By being heavily occupied with ranch improvements, it looks like we missed a good time and some good food. Maybe next time.
