So my brother and his family raised this years bird for my mom to cook in the oven for turkey day....ummmm.... it's kinda big (36.5lbs) and we need to know how long at 350 this monster might take? It's gonna be stuffed also .... Has anyone done one this big? Looking for time advice. Thanks and Gobble Gobble!!

Does he live next to a nuclear plant?

What is the rig you plan to go with this bird?? I'm guessing that would be a challenge for the XL but for a XXL no worries. And for ease of management I would lightly load the cavity (if you can see the far end) with aromatics and run the stuffing separately. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Holy Shlt thats a big bird. Stuffing will slow it down. It's gonna take 4-6 hours I'd think. I'd put a temp probe in the breast on that beast. Hope you have a big family! Good luck.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

Thanks guys... I think we're gonna run 2 probes. One in the thigh and maybe one in the stuffing or breast...posted this Off Topic cuz it's going in the oven.

This is just me thinking out loud, but I would cut it in half and throw it on the BGE or smoker. Cooking two 18 pound halves would be much more manageable.

Publix had a 36 pounder in the freezer. Pretty big bird. Didn't think it would fit on my BGE.LBGE
