Lamb Shank Lunch

bgebrentbgebrent Posts: 16,507
It was supposed to be dinner last night, then we found the lobster on sale. So it's lunch today.  Garlic and rosemary marinade. A little grape vine smoke.  Not my favorite cut of lamb but it was mild and tasty.

Thanks man.  Can't imagine why it wouldn't be plentiful in your neck of the woods.

Brent - this string of vacation cooks is impressive.  Clearly cooking is a big part of your down time at the lake.  Great plating btw.

Brother, been super busy lately and not getting in too many cooks.  Once that changed I decided to overcompensate.  You are exactly correct.  Thanks man!

I liked it Ron.  It added a subtle floral/smoke note to the mild lamb, not a heavy smoke.  I'd use it again

Great with poultry!  Still in limited quantity.  Also great with seafood.

Yessir.  Its mild, fruity/floral smoke and the brief time the seafood is on the grill allows just a kiss of that smoke.  Try it my friend.  I love it.

I love shank but I've never egged it. Looks awesome. I'm a huge fan of slow braised shanks on a cold winters day. Mmm...  Shanks.

Took 1:45 at 3:50 dome. Got just past MR but still tasted great. Any advice is welcomed brother!

  • Couldn't give any. I smoked one once for like 6 hours and it was good but too smoky. I've braised a ton of them though.

    I wonder if a ( 1 - 1 ) smoke then wrap with liquid would be good?

It would but this was also good.  Lamb shanks traditionally are braised.  I tried being lazy and it was pretty good!
