As far as the pay gap goes, isn't that the epitome of capitalism? If I'm not happy with the wage I'm making, isn't it up to me to fix that? Or do I just hope that that liberal government will give me what I don't deserve?

Trump is egotistical and not politically correct, but has good ideas on the economy and the fight against terrorism.

@JohnInCarolina Your a good guy John.  Although you and I don't agree on political affiliation I can agree that our civil liberties have eroded.  We dance a fine line between our govt protecting her citizens and govt overstepping and destroying what makes our country awesome...FREEDOM!  If you agree on there is too much govt intervention infringing on our liberties how can you be supportive of the Dem party (rhetorical).  Again we may never agree on certain things but, I would still consider you a friend John.  It befuddles me when I see people on social media and IRL that condemn other people that don't agree with  political or religious standings. It's even more Troublesome when I see them discard their friends they have been with for decades because of these differences. It's actually kind of sad.

  •  @NPHuskerFL I'm actually a registered "unaffiliated" voter in NC.  Before that, I was a registered independent.

I tend to vote for Democrats because their policies are aligned more closely with my views than Republicans.  The GOP lost me sometime around the time they stopped believing that conservation of our natural resources was important.  But I certainly don't subscribe to everything the Democratic Party is selling.  I think one of the bigger scams pulled on the American public is that these two parties are really all that different.

Regardless, I agree with you that it's sad that friendships have been lost over this election.  I'm friends with a good number of conservatives and libertarians, including some folks on this forum.  I value their opinions as much as my other friends, because they are different from my own.  I think it's a real issue for this country that people are increasingly becoming more and more cocooned and isolated in their own echo chambers.
