Has anyone tried a wireless remote for your thermometer? I am considering buying a Maverick ET733. Just don't want to waste my money.

I have had 4 Mavericks over time. Although they worked OK for a while, I'm not really impressed with the quality. I haven't tried one yet, but my next one will be the Thermoworks Smoke. I own 10 different products made by them and the quality is definitely above what the Maverick is.

Depending on how fancy you want to get (and how much you want to spend), may also consider something like a FlameBoss 200 which includes wifi and can control the temp of the egg.

I think you'll find a lot of us here have and use Mavericks. For simply monitoring the temps without standing next to the Egg, they work very well in my experience.
Then again, for actually controlling (as well as monitoring) temps, I second Hofstrajet's mention of the Flameboss 200. Simple and highly effective, although I've only been using mine for about six months now.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.
