Question on moink balls and pig shots...

Ok, I've never cooked either but that's because I just found these today!  On the pig shots, it looks like everyone's using thick cut bacon....what about the moink balls?

I have only used regular cut bacon for moinkballs and ABTs.  I read somewhere for ABTs not to use thick cut because it wouldn't be get crispy enough so I took the same advice for moinkballs.  I can see why the pig shot would work with thick cut because it is not completely wrapping anything...it is more of a "bacon cup".

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Yeah - use thick cut for the Pig Shots.  I did a half slice around a kielbasa 'coin'.  I also use a half slice of thin bacon on my ABT's & Moinks.  No need to toothpick on the ABT's, but might as well for the Moinks.

=) Absolutely laughing at myself.  I thought this was something more along the lines @SGH would cook only to find out it is just bacon covered meatballs!  =)
Just bought an Egg?  Here is what you get to look forward to now:

Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night.  Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

  • Pig shots definitely require thick.  I use regular on all else.   I guess thick would work for pig candy too.  With pig candy helps to precook bacon some in microwave to render most of fat out before seasoning and cooking on egg.  Otherwise fat washes off all your coating on pig candy

I made the mistake and used thick cut bacon on Moink Balls once, bacon never really crisped up. Never again!!!
