Last year when my lovely wife bought me a CyberQ I decided to keep my DigiQ as a backup.
Less that an hour ago the cable broke from my Pit Viper fan.
I replaced it my Pit Viper from the DigiQ and am back on track with my cook.
Now I need to see if they can repair it or if it needs replacement.

Nicely done! I would have to go the way I learned and use vents only.

If I had to I could have gone manual. I use vents only for short cooks.

Right now you're on "Plan B".  That would be "Plan C".

(although I don't have a temp controller so it is always my "Plan A")

I'm with @Foghorn here.  All plans default to the manual controller option.  Given I just acquired a stick burner, I definitely don't care about continuity of sleep.  Maybe when I get older  ;)

Might only take 5 minutes to fix that if you have a soldering iron.

Contact BBQ guru. I had the same thing happen to mine. There must be some issue with how the wires are attached to some of their fans. BBQ guru mailed me a new fan, for free, with wires securely attached much better than the original one I purchased, and it's been working like a champ ever since. Mine was under their warranty because it was relatively new at the time the wires broke. Customer service rep was quite pleasant also.

If they wouldnt have sent me a new fan, the soldering was my next option.

I just called BBQ Guru. They are sending me an RMA for a free repair for my fan. Great Service!

Update, BBQ Guru sent me a brand new Pit Viper! This was very generous of them as the unit was not under warranty.

I am with @Foghorn and @lousubcap, no pit controller here.  I did a overnight cook last Sat and got about 6 hours of sleep and everything went about as planed.  Put a 15 lb brisket on at 7 with a great temp of 235.  Went to bed at 12:30 with a great temp of 225.  Woke up at 7:15 with a great temp of 205 and the brisket was 165 and coming out of the stall.  got the egg to 250 and finished the brisket around 10:00 am.  I keeping thinking I need a controller, but the night cooks always seem to go ok.

@dstearn, glad you are back in business and it is good to here that there are still company's standing behind their product.

A major key to the successful manual over-night controller is make sure you are stable before hitting the rack.  I plan to fire up the BGE at least 2 hours before loading the protein.  If I haven't had to mess with the vents for around an hour after dialing in the target (+/-) temp, on goes the protein.  Let everything get back to temp and then declare victory.  FWIW-
There are many ways to get there-play around and find one that works for you.
BTW- @dstearn -  glad it all worked out.
