Do you pack your lunch?

if so what are some cooks you are doing to take with you through the week?  Looking to do better than just lunch meat sandwiches. This is mostly for my lunch but I would like to get my little boys off the cafeteria food too. Thanks!

I usually egg a bunch of whatever on Sunday and take it for lunch M-W. This week, chicken leg quarters and legs. I like doing sausages, brats, etc too. Add a side salad and I'm set

The chicken may get turned into chicken salad this week, not sure yet

I always grill up boneless skinless breast Sunday night simply coated in olive oil and rubbed with whatever. I cut it into strips and serve over Romaine lettuce, tomato, and cucumber with a simple dressing of EVOO, red wine vinegar, and Dijon. Lunch all week.

As above - cook a bunch on the weekend (Sunday primarily) and then the proverbial left-over banquet during the week.  This routine whether when full-time working or now in a volunteer capacity 3x/week.  Anything you cook on the BGE, just cook extras (wouldn't work for @SGH - no such thing as left-overs in his world  ;) ).   Now, if you are not a fan of left-overs then that's a whole new challenge.  FWIW-

As above, a lot of the time it is a protein to incorporate into lunch dishes.  Today will be a turkey breast, to top a green salad.  We do rice bowls too, marinate and grill thin slices of brisket, cook a big batch of greens, put them together with brown rice, some matchstick carrots, and a hoisin/soy/sriracha sauce.

My daughter loves flank steak and Bibb lettuce, so I'll do one that for her every few weeks.  Grilled chicken salad is always a winner with everyone.

  • As above. Today I'm making grilled corn and bbq dispatch chicken for lunches. The corn will be turned into a Mexican street corn salad.

If I don't end up cooking something, I like to make adult "lunchables."  To include any variety of things. Pepperoni, cheddar cubes, vegitables with ranch, etc... I am one of those people though that doesn't get very hungry throughout the day, so if I just have a couple of snack type things I am usually set until dinner time.

Being a mailman and only having 30 minutes can be a little tricky, but this summer i've been fortunate to locate a senior center that has welcomed us with open arms. We have access to a microwave, our own table, and restroom facilities. So to answer your question...i pack a lunch just about every day. And i bring something for breakfast without fail.

I use a ton of hamburger buns to make sandwiches out of whatever...butt, brisket, steak, chicken, pork chops, etc. and i load up on fruit and chips from costco.

Last week i cooked a few times inside for a change and had leftover fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans one day...and leftover chicken pot pie another.

I'm notorious for packing a healthy, nutricious lunch - forgetting it - and eating crap food that will kill ya from the school cafeteria...

Planning on doing something like this for this week. Dizzy Pig Mediterranean-ish seasoning on the chicken, Greek Vinegarette dressing, taboulee on top of the salad and pepperoncini peppers and a little bit of pita bread.
