Any idea what this big leaf (bigger than my hand) is? came up under a Loquat tree a few years ago. It got mowed down a couple of times but keep coming back, so I put it in a pot . It's now about 8' tall, no flowers so far just big ass leafs. Had to have came from bird poop!

I didn't zoom in on the photo originally. Now that I did I'm thinking it may well be a mulberry. Sassafras leaf edges tend to be smooth unlike mulberry which has jagged or toothy edges.
One quick test is to break off a twig and give it a chew. If it tastes like root beer it is sassafras. If not it is likely mulberry.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Was there a monkey chasing a weasel nearby? (sorry)
Yes.....I believe Mulberry is the winner.
