OT - Cycling - Another use for insulated tumblers

Probably not many on here who will care, but the 20 and 30 oz Ozark Trail insulated tumblers (from Walmart) fit a water bottle holder on a bicycle. At least they fit in mine. Water was still ice cold at the end of a 90 minute ride on a 90° day. What little was left of it anyway. Sure beats drinking 90° water!!!

I understand the Yeti mugs are identical, but at $30/$40 vs $7/$10, I'll never know.

It doesn't close. It also didn't spill a drop on my ride.

Mine is carbon fiber and both sizes fit. Yours is aluminum rod. It bends so you should be able to make it fit. It is SOOOO nice to have cold water!! If you don't like it, bend it back.

I don't usually go into Wally Worlds as a matter of principle, but thank you for the head's-up on these tumblers!

LOL, I hear ya. I hate Walmart (for several reasons) and go there only infrequently. Saw these mugs mentioned on here and since I knew I would never spend Yeti or even Rtic prices, I decided to give them a shot. Very pleased so far.

Sam's Club has a two pack of 30oz Members Mark tumblers with a lid that has a sliding latch for $20 if worried about spills

@Carolina Q Thanks for the tip!  I generally won't go out if its over 90...didn't make it out this afternoon because it was 93 here.  Any cold water is appreciated as noted!

Nice bike!! FYI, I found myself wishing I had brought the 30 oz one. Or even BOTH. When the water is actually cold (and therefore, palatable) you drink more!

    Well I'll be jiggered.

Thanks Q!  Nice and snug in the Blackburn carbon fiber cages.  Not sure if these "tanks" will replace the camelbak 24 oz bottles for day runs, but it's nice to have options.  Will definitely pack one for beers on the brew runs!

Think I would prefer no door on the lid for ease of access while riding.  The cups don't leak in my manual Taco that I bang around town.  Don't see spillage an issue at all on the bikes.

2015 Bacoonride a friend lost one of the SS pints we got for registering in advance.  We all were cruisin along and heard CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG, until it tumbled and rolled to a stop.   Didn't even have to look back, knew exactly what happened, and pulled off the trail to wait.

If you are worried about spills and want cold water, get yourself a zojirushi thermos.

Wouldn't fit on either bike... However I think I would stay with the 24oz Polar regardless.
