Prime Rib or Brisket for Father's Day?

For the life of me I cannot decide which I should cook, been stewing over it for a few days, I'm at the eleventh hour now.... Gotta hit the butcher shop today. Would love to hear any good Prime Rib Recipes! Happy Father's Day!

Sounds like @Fayborg is doing both!

I would offer that one factor for you to consider is the level of effort that the respective cook will take.  Briskets require more care and feeding (at least for me) than a prime rib.  Also, a brisket cook will take a lot longer (more SWMBO escape time).  FWIW-

I'd go for the prime rib, if $ is no factor;  i like it more and it's much easier to cook. Olive oil Salt pepper minced garlic rosemary and a little lemon zest - don't need any added smoke wood but I like one small cherry wood chunk

This I especially like. No need to fukk around when it comes to food. When in doubt, cook both. For not being a nibbler or a weight watcher I proudly offer:

Excellent but you know me, gotta be the brisket if you don't cook both.

Hey, if we are voting, then I certainly vote for cooking both. I'm just that kind of a person. If I have it, then I cook it. No matter the amount. Hell, the more the better in my book.

@SGH I agree but not all of us has a unit of your magnitude to cook that much at a time.

My brother, he can cook that brisket first, and then knock that PR right out on the BGE. I rooting for him all the way on this one. This is my kind of cook.

I'd hit the prime rib. Brisket it awesome but more work and less wiggle room. Win either way though. Enjoy it and happy Father's day.
